Digital devices for planning & delivery of lessons
Digital Devices:
- A digital device is a pieces of physical equipment that uses digital data, Such as by sending, receiving, storing or processing it.
- We rely on them in our personal as well as professional work for aa sorts of reason.
The digital devices we can use while planning and delivery of lessons are listed below:
- Desktop computers
- Laptop computers
- Mobile phones
- tablet computer
- E-readers
- Storage devices such as pendrive, Flashdisk
- Input devices such as keyboard, mouse, lightpen, scanner
- Output devices such as printer, speaker
Methods of teaching & learning process through digital technology/devices:
Multimedia:
- Development in computers, communication, electronics and other multimedia tools provide a wide range of sensory stimuli.
- Audiovisuals, video conferencing, short animations etc. can be used in teaching learning process.
Personal digital Assistants(PDA)
- The PDA wireless devices are used to as e-learning tools allowing the learners to access information anytime, anywhere.
Communication Resources:
- This can be done via two modes namely, asynchronous communication and synchronous communication.
- There are a number of activities that can be developed using asynchronous communication like presentation, freeflow discussions on a topic, peer reviews, debates, message boards, e-mails, seminars, feedback, or assignments.
- The synchronous communication can also be used form online lecture.
Database:
- Database is a good source of materials put up by the government, libaries and educational institutions.
- It contain extensive information on graphics interface, websites, electronic page layout, multimedia and animated designs.
Software libraries or Digital libraries:
- Software libraries contain programs that the learners may download to their own computers.
- The software library includes e-books, interactive CDs and teaching tools.
Online testing:
- The teacher may prepare a questions bank or an objective type test and place it on the network. The students answer and submit the test.
- The immediate feedback and scores can be obtained by the students.
- The evaluation can be done by means of assignments in the form of presentations, documents, and audio visuals, online quiz in various subjects, etc.
Teacher use Digital devices to:
- Present the materials in more interesting and attractive use.\
- Guide and help students in searching the qualitative materials.
- coach the students.
- provide individual instructions.
Disadvantages of digital devices during teaching and learning process:
- Distracting students.
- Requires management and training
- leads to tech disparity
- Cost money
- Less face time
It is better to mention the challenges like teacher training and technological hindrances while using digital devices for planning and delivering lessons.

ReplyDeleteDigital devices becomes important tools for teaching and learning process in this pandemic situation. I think it would be more better if you add challenges of using digital devices in remote areas.

Yes there are various kinds of digital devices around us these make our works fast but unluckily all people doesn't use them.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely digital device have grate importance on teaching learning activities and our personal life too. But unfortunately there are so many people who do not have any excess on it.

ReplyDeleteHow has our country adapted to digital devices for planning and delivery of lessons? We still lag behind in technological resources and manpower. Even if there are devices - there may be many teachers, students and parents who may not know how to operate them properly.
